Police investigate possible homicide in Surrey

SURREY —   It started as a house fire, and now, homicide investigators are at the scene in Surrey, not far from the Pattullo Bridge.

A home started to burn after midnight, and once crews were able to get the flames under control, a body was found. Two other people reportedly escaped unhurt.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was quickly called in and the property, in Surrey’s Bridgeview neighbourhood, blocked off.

There’s no word yet on how the man died, whether it was in the fire itself or by some other means.

Few other details are available and while RCMP confirm homicide investigators have taken over the scene, members of I-HIT have not yet commented.
