SALMON ARM, B.C. — RCMP in Salmon Arm are looking for help from the public after one of their cruisers was rammed early this morning.

It happened as officers were investigating a suspicious vehicle report in the city's southeast sector.

While they were tracking a suspect, a Chevrolet Corvette backed out of parking stall, spinning its rear tires as it hit the cruiser.

The driver ran from the scene and efforts to locate him were not unsuccessful.

Police believe the incident may be related to a stolen pickup truck report in the same area.

RCMP are asking the public to be on the lookout for a 2006 GMC Sierra extended cab pickup truck bearing BC license plate KW 8863.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
