KAMLOOPS — RCMP investigating a late-afternoon accident Friday that sent one woman to hospital after she was hit by a vehicle while walking her bike across Fortune Drive.

In a news release, Sergeant Brandon Buliziuk says they got the call at 4:30 yesterday afternoon, after the collision near the North Shore Safeway.

The woman was walking her bike across the roadway when she was struck by a pickup, which then left the scene.

The woman, who was in a crosswalk at the time,  was taken to hospital with a broken ankle and several other injuries, all of which are non life-threatening.

Very little information is available on the pickup, which was described as being silver in colour.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
