MERRITT, B.C. — Saying conditions are extremely dry, the province has increased the drought stage for the Coldwater River watershed to Level Four.

The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resources Operations and Rural Development says flows on the Coldwater have dropped to critical thresholds for resident fish populations.

All water users are being urged to reduce their water consumption.

This includes residents, industry, farmers and municipalities.
