Evacuation Order for Skeetchestn Indian Band

KAMLOOPS — An evacuation order has been issued by the Skeetchestn Indian Band for the Skeetchestn Indian Reserve Lands, Reserve #0 this afternoon, as the Elephant Hill fire grows closer to their community.

A Facebook photo of the order, posted on Friday afternoon and signed by Chief Ron Ignace and four Skeetchestn Councillors, went up at 1:05 pm.

Evacuees are being directed to register at the ESS Reception Centre at the Sandman Centre in Kamloops, located at 300 Lorne Street.

CFJC Today will have more information on this evacuation order, and the wildfire situation in the region as it becomes available.
