Kamloops police officer punched in the head, witnesses jump in to help

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are looking to speak to the good samitarians who jumped in to help after a police officer was attacked and punched in the head Friday afternoon.

Staff Sgt. Edward Preto says RCMP received report of a man running into traffic and hitting car windows at 4th Avenue and Seymour Street  just after 3 p.m.

When an officer approached the man he was attacked and punched in the head by the suspect.

It was then two people nearby who witnessed the attacked jumped in to help the officer arrest the suspect.
