KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Venom got a goal from Riley Lawryk with 1:33 to play to give the Venom a 13-12 victory over the Vernon Tigers and a 2-1 lead in their best of five series for the Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse Championships.

The Venom got off to a fast start in the first period at Memorial Arena, building up a 6-0 lead before Vernon got on the scoreboard.

But after that, the Tigers came roaring back and tied the game at 12 with just under two minutes to play.

Jake Pelletier scored 6 goals in a losing effort for the Tigers, who will host the Venom in game 4 of the series Sunday in Vernon.
