CACHE CREEK, B.C. — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has rescinded several small evacuation orders around the Elephant Hill fire north of Cache Creek, and that has resulted in an open highway corridor.

Orders surrounding properties to the west of Highway 97 and immediately bordering the highway to the east have been lifted.

That means Highway 97 north of Cache Creek is open north to the junction with Highway 24.

All of those properties remain on evacuation alert.
