Kamloops man owns up to stabbing cabbie

KAMLOOPS — A young Kamloops man has pleaded guilty to the August, 2016 stabbing of a local taxi cab driver.

Austin Eyres pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in BC Supreme Court in Kamloops yesterday.

He stabbed Cal Huntington on August 24, 2016, near the intersection of Eighth Avenue and Pleasant Street.

Eyres’ next court appearance is set for July 24, in order to fix a date for sentencing.
