BC Wildfire closes four lakes in the Cariboo

WILLIAMS LAKE — BC Wildfire has restricted public access to four lakes in the Cariboo to aid in the wildfire fight.

Williams Lake, Watchson Lake, Lac La Hache and Horse Lake are closed to the public as of Friday.

Officials say the closures will give airtankers and helicopters more room to manoeuvre and pick up water to suppress nearby wildfires.

Recreational boaters or people using other watercraft who try to get a close-up look at these aircraft present a serious safety risk for air crews and anyone else in the area.
