New president of NASCAR has Kamloops connection

KAMLOOPS — The new president of NASCAR is a Canadian with a Kamloops connection.

Brent Dewar has been promoted to the top job with stock car racing giant.

He is the brother of Kamloops Storm owner Barry Dewar.

62-year old Brent Dewar, who was born in New Westminster and raised in Kelowna, had been NASCAR’s chief operating officer since 2013 and prior to that was an executive with General Motors.
