RCMP investigating possible attempted child abduction

MALAKWA, B.C. — RCMP say a bizarre incident east of Sicamous this morning may have been an attempted child abduction.

The resident of a Malakwa home in the 4000-block of Malakwa Road says her three year old was playing in the front lawn at about 10:30 this morning.

The mother heard yelling, and when she looked outside, she saw a man and a small dog standing about 10 feet from her child.

When the mother called her child to her, the man got into a vehicle and left.

The male is described as;

  • Caucasian
  • 40-45 years of age
  • Short, thinning blond hair
  • Average Height
  • Average Build

The vehicle is described as;

  • Lincoln, similar to a MKZ
  • Black
  • Late model
  • 4 door
  • Bearing a British Columbia licence plate

The dog is described as;

  • Small
  • Tan and white in color

Anyone with information to help officers track the man down is asked to contact Sicamous RCMP.
