Late night drive-thru employee helps nab prohibited driver

KAMLOOPS — A prohibited driver is in more hot water after a keen-eyed McDonald’s employee spotted something off with a drive-thru customer this morning.

Just after 1:00 a.m., the man was going through the drive-thru, when the employee noticed an open beer in the vehicle’s console.

A Kamloops RCMP officer was nearby and stopped the man when the officer noticed he was using his cell phone.

After stopping the vehicle, police say the driver confessed to being prohibited from driving, having recently been to court on those charges.

The 29 year old Chase man was given a pair of tickets, and an appearance notice for court on a charge of driving while prohibited.
