KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers announced today that they have sent 19-year-old defenseman Dan Gatenby to the Tri-City Americans in exchange for a conditional seventh round pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.

Gatenby was acquired by the Blazers in August of 2016 after spending one season with the Kelowna Rockets.

“We have an influx of young defensemen ready to step into our line-up this upcoming season,” commented General Manager, Stu MacGregor. “We believe this gives Dan a chance to play regularly and also allows us to give our young players opportunity.”

In 41 games with the Blazers in 2016-17, Gatenby had a goal and six assists for seven points. He also suited up in five playoff games for the Blazers.
