Hicketts wins Calder Cup

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Minor Hockey product and former Victoria Royals captain Joe Hicketts and the Grand Rapids Griffins have won the Calder Cup American Hockey League championship.

Grand Rapids defeated the Syracuse Crunch to win the series four games to two.

Hicketts, a signed Detroit Red Wings prospect, had a goal and seven assists in Grand Rapids 19 playoff games.
