Kamloops, Shuswap no longer under flood watch

KAMLOOPS — The BC River Forecast Centre has lifted the Flood Watch in place for the South Thompson River, placing the river on a High Streamflow Advisory.

The move indicates the tension beginning to ease on Kamloops-area waterways, with the Centre saying both the South Thompson and Shuswap Lake appear to have peaked.

Officials say small declines in those levels have been observed, and it appears snow melt is contributing less to runoff.

The Centre says continued declining levels are expected throughout this week.
