KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Rural RCMP say a Tk'emlups resident is recovering from multiple stab wounds, allegedly suffered at the hands of his wife.

Police say the man received the wounds Saturday night at the couple's home on Kamloopa Way, but waited until just before 4:00 Sunday afternoon to report the incident to RCMP.

The victim's wife was tracked down at another home and arrested.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the 48 year old woman is facing a charge of assault with a weapon, and is previously known to police.

Shelkie says, when it comes to reporting criminal activity, time is of the essence.

"I'm not sure of what his reasons were for waiting, but as soon as possible, give us a call so we can collect evidence," said Cpl. Shelkie. "It's vital that we get evidence as close to the time that it happened as possible."

As for the victim, Shelkie says he was taken to Royal Inland Hospital where he was stitched up before being released.
