45 years later: A look at the flood of 1972

KAMLOOPS — As residents nervously watch the rising Thompson Rivers, today marks a grim anniversary in the city’s relationship with the rivers that flow through Kamloops.

It was June 2, 1972, when dikes along the North Thompson failed, sending flood waters raging into the Oak Dale Trailer Park in Westsyde.
