UPDATE: The boil water advisory for Sun Rivers has been lifted.

Corix Utilities says water samples collected from their water system shows the water is safe to drink and it is no longer necessary for residents to drink bottled water.

The announcement was made in an online news release early Saturday afternoon.

KAMLOOPS — For the second time in two weeks, a boil water notice has been issued for Sun Rivers.

In this case, rather than a select neighbourhood, this advisory is in effect for the entire community of Sun Rivers.

Corix Utilities says the water distribution system has lost pressure, leaving the potential for contamination.

Residents are advised to bring any water they are using to a rolling boil for one minute before using it.

Corix says the public will be notified when the notice is lifted.
