Evacuation alert lifted near Lillooet wildfire

LILLOOET, B.C. — The BC Wildfire Service is gaining the upper hand over the first significant wildfire of the season.

The 30 hectare Fountain Valley Road wildfire eight kilometres east of Lillooet is now listed at 80 per cent contained.

The blaze was first discovered last Sunday, burning near a couple of homes.

As of noon today, an evacuation alert for those homes has been lifted.
