KAMLOOPS — Five rinks have been added to the Olympic curling pre-trials this fall.

That will increase the field to fourteen for both men and women.

Among the entries for the PEI event are 2016 B.C. Scotties champion Karla Thompson of Kamloops.

Thompson and Briane Meilleur (may_YURR) of Winnipeg were tied for the final spot, so instead of forcing teams in a tiebreaker, it was decided to add both.

Two entries from each gender will qualify for the Olympic trials in Ottawa in December.
