KAMLOOPS, B.C. — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District is opening up a help centre for people impacted by flooding.

The 'Resiliency Centre' will be set up at the Coast Kamloops Hotel and Convention Centre beginning today from 2 p.m. to 6p.m.

Mike Garrett, Information Officer for the TNRD Emergency Operation Centre, says TNRD and Red Cross workers will be on in site providing information on disaster financial programs as well clean-up kits for residents of the Regional District..

"We know that there's a lot of people whose properties have been affected by this flooding," said Garrett. ""We basically just want to help any way we can and to be a place where people can go to get help."

The centre will also be open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with the same hours of operation.

A similiar centre is scheduled to open tomorrow in Merritt.
