100m numbers up at Battle of the Border – way up

KAMLOOPS — The 100 metre sprint might be the most exciting ten seconds in sports.

Who can forget the friendly competition between Usain Bolt and Canadian sprinter Andrew DeGrasse at last summers Rio Olympics.

At this years Battle of the Border high school track meet at Hillside, there was a spike in the number of entries in the 100 metres — which got us to wondering if the DeGrasse performance in Rioi had anything to do with that bump in participation.
