Deceased author wins B.C. publishing award

VANCOUVER —   A Kamloops author who died in March has been honoured with a B-C publishing award.

     Richard Wagamese’s latest book of essays — “Embers: One Ojibway’s Meditations” — is the winner of a B-C Book Prize fo public appeal, design, production and content.

     Wagamese died in Kamloops on March 10 at the age of 61.

     This year’s B-C Book Prize winners also include Douglas Coupland, who received the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Literary Excellence. (The Canadian Press)
