KAMLOOPS —  B.C. Green Party leader Andrew Weaver says he’s encouraged by the wave of Green support that keeps building.

Weaver paid a visit to Kamloops Sunday, a visit arranged in support of local candidates Dan Hines and Donovan Cavers.

Weaver said there’s been a big outpouring of support in the party’s favour recently.

He said people can vote for his party, knowing they’re able to vote for what they want, rather than voting out of fear, which he says is what the Liberals and NDP are trying to foster.

Weaver reiterated a comment he made at last week’s leaders’ debate, wherein he mentioned that the party that won the 2013 election was not the Liberals but the non-voters.

He says when one out of two people don’t vote, that’s not good for the future of the province, and getting out the vote is critical for responsible MLA’s to be elected.
