VERNON, B.C. — The B.C. Coroner service is investigating now that the body of a man missing from a Mable Lake cabin has been found.

Bruce Van Hasstrecht hadn’t been seen since April 1st.

Fifty-three year old Van Hasstrecht was from Alberta but had been staying a cabin in the 5300 block of Mable Lake Road in Lumby.

There had been some thought he may have gone into the lake and the RCMP dive team spent two looking for him but with no sign of him.

This past Friday, another Mabel Lake cabin owner arrived at his property and found the body of a man on the ground.

RCMP determined it was that of Van Hasstrecht.

They don’t believe foul play was involved but there is no indication how he died.
