KAMLOOPS — There's been a shift in international students at TRU.

According to Baihua Chadwick, Associate Vice-President of TRU World Global Operations, the majority of TRU's overseas students has always come from China.

Not anymore.

"As of the fall semester of 2016, that trend has changed," said Chadwick. "Currently the largest population is from India."

According to Chadwick, students from India make up 30% of TRU's student population, with the Chinese population slightly lower.

Chadwick says the universities business programs remain one of the most sought after by international students.

There are currently 87 countries represented at TRU, with more than 3,000 international students expected this fall.
