CLEARWATER, B.C. — Crews were in mop-up mode in Clearwater Saturday night.

According to Leslie Groulx with the District of Clearwater, a creek by the Raft River Elementary School breached its banks at around 10 p.m.

The water spilled into the school’s field, parking lot and playground as well a nearby community field, with the Clearwater fire department, district staff and numerous contractors called in to try and contain the water.

Crews eventually contained the dike alongside Hillside and Clearwater Village road at around 3 a.m, with staff remaining on scene Sunday morning monitoring the situation.
