KAMLOOPS — Police indicate the male involved has identified himself and come forward.

EARLIER: RCMP are trying to track down a man who allegedly groped a woman in a North Shore store nearly two months ago.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says at the North Shore Canadian Tire, a man approached a woman from behind and groped her while she was waiting for the cashier.

Shelkie says even though the incident took place in early February, investigators are still trying to track the suspect down.

“The reason we are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect now is we tried other means to identify him over the past month, and we were not successful. Now we are reaching out to the public to assist us in identifying who this male may be,” said Shelkie.

The man in question is described as in his 40s.

At the time, he was wearing a blue t-shirt, dark grey hoodie, blue jeans and a black ball cap with a white logo.

He was believed to be driving a newer model white Ford F-350 with a short box and crew cab, and carrying a red tidy tank.

Anyone who can help identify the suspect is asked to call Kamloops RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
