One killed following collision near Monte Lake

MONTE LAKE, B.C. — A crash five kilometres south of Monte Lake on Highway 97 Saturday claimed the life of a West Kelowna woman.

Police say a car and a pickup truck collided just before 3 pm.

An 85-year old woman driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene. A 27-year old man and 23 year old woman in the pickup, were not hurt.

Police say their initial reports show the car drifted into oncoming traffic while negotiating a curve.
