LIYU LAKE, HUALIEN COUNTRY, TAIWAN — The afternoon training started with a 4 minute chin ups time trial.   Objective: do as many chin ups as you can within 4 minutes (goal is 100).

Zach Morgan who is a Canadian National sprint Canoe champion was able to do this in 3:40.   After the chin ups they shouldered their boats for another 18km paddle in the rain.   Coach Stanislav called them in after 10 as the wind was picking up.

Instead they finished the afternoon with a 10 km run (2 laps of the lake).    Stan says this week is a warm up and all about time on the water – he hopes to have them doing about 30-60 km/day and then next week the work begins.
