KAMLOOPS — CP Rail says a small derailment in its downtown Kamloops yard Sunday was caused by a “yard assignment.”

In an email, Media Relations Spokesperson Salem Woodrow says three cars derailed at about 3:40 p.m. Sunday.

Woodrow says the cars were not loaded at the time, and there were no injuries.

She says the company’s emergency response process was launched “immediately” and the incident is under investigation.
