KAMLOOPS — RCMP have released the results of a distracted driving blitz conducted at several Kamloops intersections last week.

The two-day blitz resulted in officers handing out 52 tickets for drivers using electronic devices behind the wheel.

The fine for those drivers is $368 each, or $888 if it’s the second ticket in the same year.

Even more surprising than the distracted driving complaints may be the 59 seatbelt violations recorded by officers during the two-day operation.
