Fatal crash closes Trans Canada Highway near Revelstoke

REVELSTOKE, B.C. — A multi-vehicle crash involving three semi-trailer trucks has killed one person and closed the Trans Canada Highway between Revelstoke and Golden.

The crash occurred on the western edge of Glacier National Park, 50 kilometres East of Revelstoke.

The four vehicle crash which also included an SUV happened shortly after 9:00 a.m.

RCMP say two vehicles collided head on then burst into flames.

A helicopter was brought in to transport the injured to hospital.

Police say it was snowing at the time of the crash.
