Oyama councillor succumbs to cancer

OYAMA, B.C. — The Lake Country councillor for Oyama has died.

61-year old Owen Dickie passed away Monday after a battle with cancer.

Dickie, who moved to Oyama in 1989, was elected in Oyama in 2011.

He helped get a new playground built in Oyama and was a driving force behind the purchase of the Okanagan Rail Trail.
