Fire ravages Vernon home

VERNON, B.C. — A family in Vernon is homeless this morning after fire destroyed their house.

First responders say the home and attached shop was engulfed in barely 15 minutes, also burning the family’s vehicles.

Everyone in the home was able to make it out safely and they say they are insured and will rebuild.

But they are also hoping someone will find their two cats — one grey, the other orange-and-white — that haven’t been seen since the blaze broke out.
