Arson charge laid in 2014 Lytton forest fire

LYTTON, B.C. — RCMP in Lytton have laid a charge of arson against a 47 year old Lytton man following a lengthy investigation into a forest fire in 2014.

The Botanie Creek fire broke out July 15th of 2014, and quickly spread, destroying Crown lands, Lytton First Nation Lands as well as private assets on several pieces of property.

The charge was laid last week after police, B.C. Wildfire Services and other agencies conducted an extensive investigation. 

The man charged is expected in Lillooet Provincial Court April 4th. His name hasn’t been released by RCMP.
