KAMLOOPS — Travel will be a little tricky for drivers southwest of Kamloops today.

A pair of major routes have been closed by mudslides.

Highway 8 is closed 12 kilometres east of Spences Bridge due to a slide.

Drive BC says it may open by noon today.

And Highway 12 has been shut down 27 kilometres south of Lillooet because of mud and debris.

The province has no estimate when that route may re-open, but is advising motorists to use Highways 1 and 99 as alternate routes.

And the Trans Canada Highway remains closed this morning east of Golden due to a high avalanche hazard.

Road crews are planning avalanche control work later this morning, but there is no word when that route may re-open.
