KAMLOOPS — 2017 has gotten off to a strong start in what is typically a slow month for the construction industry.

According to the City of Kamloops, $4.6 million in permits were taken out last month.

That’s a healthy 16 per cent jump over January of 2016.

Single family homes led the way, with nine permits being taken out.

Last year finished with $157 million in permit activity.
