WolfPack Come Up With Better Effort But Fall Again To Vikes

Kamloops, BC-  The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack wrapped up the first weekend of their 2017 portion of their Canada West season by being swept at home by the visiting University of Victoria Vikes.

The score on Saturday night (Jan 7) on the Warner Rentals Court at the Tournament Capital Centre was 80-70.

SYNOPSIS

The WolfPack played substantially better than they did the previous night.  At points of the second half, they were down by only one point to Victoria, who snapped a two game losing streak with back to back victories.  TRU has dropped their last four outings.

Victoria was up 43-42 at the half.  They had three players: Amira Giannattasio(3rd year, guard, Hamilton, ON), Kristy Gallagher (3rd year, guard, Sidney, BC)  and Jenna Bugliarini  (5th year, forward, Hamilton, ON) lead them with 15 points apiece.

TRU’s main offensive threat was, for the second straight night: Shenise Sigsworth (4th year, forward, Kamloops, BC) with 17 points.  Michelle Bos (3rdyear, forward, Surrey, BC) had 14 (all in the second half) while Emma Piggin (3rd year, guard, Kamloops, BC) also added 14.
