Crash near Canoe kills pickup truck driver

SALMON ARM, B.C. — One man was killed and three of his passengers were injured after a violent crash east of Salmon Arm last night.

RCMP say the man was driving a Ford F-250 pickup on the Trans Canada Highway just before midnight.

The pickup crossed the centre line near the community of Canoe, hitting a tractor-trailer.

Police say the 55 year old pickup truck driver died at the scene, while the driver of the semi truck was not injured.

RCMP and the BC Coroners Service are investigating.
