Man assaulted at Downtown Kamloops ATM, suspects captured

KAMLOOPS — Two men were quickly arrested after a New Years Day robbery at a downtown bank. 

At 1:45 p.m. a 35-year-old man reported he had been punched in the face and robbed after using the ATM at the CIBC on Victoria Street.

The victim was treated for injuries to his face. 

Kamloops RCMP located two suspects in a vehicle several blocks away minutes later. 

Two men were arrested and brought into custody. One of the men, George Young of Kamloops, appeared in court for a bail hearing this morning, Jan 2. 

Young was remanded into custody until January 5 when he will appear in Kamloops Provincial Court.
