Snowfall warning persists for Coquihalla Highway

KAMLOOPS — Road conditions could be slick this morning with more snow falling on the Coquihalla Hwy.

Environment Canada forecaster Greg Pearce says a snowfall warning persists between Hope and Merritt as the highway will see similar conditions to yesterday.

“They’ve had about 10 cm of snow overnight,” Pearce said. “We do expect some heavier flurries to move into that area during the day today, so we’re forecasting an additional 15-20 cm for the Coquihalla Summit.”

Pearce says the snow could start to taper off by late afternoon or early evening.
