KAMLOOPS — Two people were taken to hospital after a head-on crash near Rayleigh this morning.

Cst. Jason Epp of Kamloops RCMP says it happened just after 8:30, on the Yellowhead Highway near Devick Road.

"At this point it appears that the vehicle traveling southbound lost control on icy roads, and swerved or came into oncoming traffic where there was a head-on colission," stated Epp.

Epp says one of the drivers was taken to Royal Inland Hospital with serious injuries, while injuries to the other driver appeared to be less serious.

Traffic is getting through after a closure this morning.

Epp adds with temperatures warming up today, that can lead to slippery conditions on area highways.
