Blazers beat Giants 5-2 on teddy bear night

KAMLOOPS — Ondrej Vala sent the teddy bears flying 10:38 into the first period and the Blazers went on to a 5-2 win over the Vancouver Giants on Saturday night at home in front of 4370 fans tonight.

Rudolfs Balcers scored his team leading 17th goal of the season and Deven Sideroff had the game winner on the power play in the second period. 

Spencer Bast added a goal and Quinn Benjafield scored an empty net goal to make it a 5-2 final. 

The Blazers outshot the Giants 33-17 in the game. The Giants were 0-for-4 on the power play, while the Blazers finished 2-for-4 on the night. 

Balcers and Sideroff each finished with a goal and an assist on the night. Connor Ingram stopped 15 shots for the win, while Ryan Kubic stopped 28 of 32 shots. The Blazers improved to 16-12-1-0 on the season. 

The Blazers will play their final home game before the Christmas break Sunday, December 4th against the Brandon Wheat Kings. Game time is 5:00pm.
