ISKUT, B.C. — A search was underway along a remote northwestern B.C. highway for a 70-year-old Alaska man who was last seen on the route Monday.

A news release from the RCMP says family members report Tony Adevai was driving from Oregon to his home in Alaska when he disappeared.

His daughter, Trace Cooper, says her father’s abandoned truck, containing all his personal items except his wallet, was found Tuesday on Highway 37 North, about 500 kilometres north of Terrace.

She says a snowplow driver on Highway 37 said he was flagged down Monday by a frightened, disoriented man who fit Adevai’s description.
