KAMLOOPS β€” RCMP say someone has been making the rounds in Kamloops, paying for purchases with fake American $20 bills.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says since November 24, police have learned of more than 10 incidents of counterfeit bills being used at local businesses.

Shelkie says employees working at retail counters need to be careful.

β€œAny employees who do cash transactions should take their time and do a cursory inspection of all bills they receive, especially American money. If they feel, or see something different about the money, then stop and examine it more closely. Employees should decline any bills that seem suspicious,” explained Shelkie.
