Mark Recchi to divest interest in Vegas Golden Knights

KAMLOOPS — Mark Recchi’s ownership in and NHL franchise didn’t last long.

After unveiling the Vegas Golden Knights new name, logo and colours last night, majority owner Bill Foley released a list of minority owners in the Franchise.

Recchi’s name was on that list.

Recchi has told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that he thought he was making a simple investment, that turned out to be a significant mistake.

Recchi says he will be divesting his interest in the Vegas Franchise, which he told the newspaper via text is about .01 of one percent.

Some of the others named as minority owners of the Vegas NHL team are former NHL player Alexei Yashin, free agent slugger Jose Bautista and New England Patriots player Rob Gronkowski.

Mark Recchi is also a minority owner of the Kamloops Blazers.
