KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP have released the results of a pair of recent co-ordinated traffic enforcement operations, and they show distracted driving continues to be a prevalent problem in the city.

Officers conducted enforcement projects on November 8 and November 17.

Between the two operations, officers issued 41 violation tickets and three warnings for using electronic devices while driving.

RCMP also issued 35 tickets for people who weren't wearing seatbelts.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says while this enforcement project focused on distracted driving, motorists can expect further operations in the future focused on speeding and impaired driving.
