Mixed bag for WolfPack over the weekend

KAMLOOPS — It's being called one of the most exciting matches in Kamloops in recent years. 

The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack  men's volleyball team lost 3-2 to the visiting UBC Thunderbirds Saturday night with both coaches referring to the match as 'character building.'

UBC was led by Irvan Brar with 17 kills.

TRU's top offensive weapon was Daniel Eikland with 19 kills.

In women's volleyball, the Thunderbirds swept the WolfPack 3-0 at the Tournament Capital Centre Saturday night.

The Thunderbirds came back with a strong effort after being swept by Kamloops Friday night.

UBC's Danielle Brisebois took the game with 18 kills while TRU's Iullia Pakhomenko had 15 kills.

The next game for both the Wolfpack women's and men's games is Friday, Nov. 25 against MacEwan Griffins in Edmonton.
